Blogger Spotlights | Cotton and Cream

Hi sweeties! How are we feeling today? The blogfair from last sunday was a big success. It’s always scared a first edition, but I heard only positive reactions from bloggers and the brands. We from ilovefashionbloggers are relieved, happy and proud. Soon you can read a report about the event on my blog. But first things first! it’ Tuesday so this means a new blogger spotlight. This time I will introduce you to Marlieke from the blog Cotton and Cream. A blog about Fashion, Food, Travel & Hotspots. Because of her passion about fashion, food and writing she started her blog. Marlieke love to share her inspiration and tips with others. Lucky she did, because I love to read her blog and I think I’m not the only one.

1.Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Marlieke Koks, the girl behind the lifestyle blog Cotton & Cream. I was born in the south of the Netherlands as a real “Bourgondier” and food lover. Besides that I have a big love for fashion. Since I was a little girl I’m addicted to spotting trends, experimenting with colors, materials and prints and spending money on fashion ;). Nowadays I live in Amsterdam and share my love for fashion, food and the good life on my blog, with the aim to inspire energetic and successful women and jointly celebrate life with the best what fashion and food can bring.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
Fashion, food and writing are my biggest passions. I always loved to cook, enjoy experimenting with new recipes and discover unknown hotspots. Friends and family often asked me “where did you get what you are wearing?”, “can I get the recipe of this dish” and “what are the best hotspots in town?” That’s why I started my own blog, to share my inspiration and tips with others. And that’s still the most important part of the blog-business: inspiring. It still makes me smile every time I I receive a positive or sweet e-mail from a follower.

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
I have a wide taste of fashion, but most of the time my looks are feminine, edgy and powerful, with a playful or colorful touch.
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts.
My ears and eyes are always “open for inspiration”. When I walk on the streets, when I read magazines, during events and when I’m enjoying city trips or traveling around the world.

5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
I’m a big fan of Sandro, Celine, Marc Jacobs, ZARA, River Island and of course… Chanel. I really love to combine designer brands with the more “payable” shops.

6. What’s now on your wish list?
Oehh lot’s of things! Right now on my mind, Black Louboutin heels and a Rolex watch..

7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Focus, perseverance, hard working and – most importantly – having fun doing it are the keys to success.
