Morning babes! Dutchies did you enjoy Kingsdag? I did! Love the crazy oranges madness. Glad I’m a Dutchie, haha. Weekend is over so back to business. It’s Tuesday which mean a new blogger spotlight. This time it’s Eva from the blog Creativity and Chocolate. I know Eva already for a long time, actually Eva is one of the first bloggers I met. We went together to the ModeFabriek 3 or 4 years ago. Times really flies. Eva started her blog to share her love for fashion, creativity and inspiration. Well let’s read her interview and don’t forget to go to her blog.
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi. I’m Eva, a girl from Rotterdam on the wrong(?) side of 30. I have a creative view on life and I love to create things from clothes to interior accessories. Beside of my interest in fashion, DIY-ing and baking I’m also crazy about animals (even studied to become a veterinary assistant). I own two dogs who think they rule the world, a bunny that actually does rule the dogs and I’m married to one of the greatest guys in the world who’s crazy enough to take my outfit photos every weekend.
2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
When my last job ended I realized I needed a place to share my loves, interests and creative piece of mind. It started with outfits, wish lists and tutorials, but now I also like to share my view on certain aspects of fashion and life and my personal experiences as a women with Aspergers syndrome.
My blog really helped me to become more secure. Even though I’m quite a busy person that talks a lot I can be really shy and introvert. So you could say I also see my blog at a challenge from time to time. Which turned out great bye the way. I love what I do 😉
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
I would love to say I have one specific style, but actually it’s a bit all over the place. There are a few things that are important to me though. Mostly that I feel comfortable in what I wear. In the three years I run Creativity & Chocolate I learned the most important part about fashion is that you feel good in it. That’s why I chose to skip high heels (I look like Bambi on ice in those things) and for instance, sheer materials. I like fashion to be comfortable and fashionable all at once!
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
I find most of my inspiration in magazines and online. But also in stores or just outside when I go for a walk with my dogs. Inspiration is everywhere, but of course I also experience a writers block from time to time. I think the most important part as a blogger is to choose quality over quantity and stay close to yourself.
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
This is a fun question since I’m in between favorites at the moment. For years Zara and H&M were absolute favorites but since my 5 piece wardrobe challenge last year that slowly changed. I still love to shop at H&M and Zara but I tend to save up more and more often to invest in one amazing piece.
My favorite brands and stores at the moment are Vanilla, Louis Vuitton and Isabel Marant. That doesn’t mean my whole closet will be stacked with only these brands (my poor wallet…) but I have a weakness for their timeless designs. Next to the well known brands and shops I also like to discover new/ unknown stores, designs and fairtrade brands.
6. What’s now on your wishlist?
Haha, do you have a moment? No just kidding. At the moment I’m on the search for the perfect summer coat, which is a challenge on it’s own because I’m quite demanding. I also would like to add the Louis Vuitton Zippy Coin Wallet and Levi’s 501 CT to my wardrobe this summer. Finding something to save up for is never a problem with me!
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
I kind of already said this at one of the previous questions, but I think it’s really important to stay close to yourself when you want to start blogging. Ask yourself why you want to start blogging and what you’re interested in. Don’t be afraid to follow your own path. A blog isn’t only about becoming successful, most importantly it’s about having fun doing it!
Have a nice day sweeties!
