Say hello to Joy from the blog Everyday Escapism. A beautiful red headed girl from Amsterdam. Started a blog because she wanted to develop her photography skills. Blog daily about fashion and food (vegetarian). Joy her style is diverse, she calls it schizophrenia because she like to switch between different fashion styles. You wanna know more about Joy? just read the interview and go to her blog.
Enjoy!

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a 23 year old Media & Culture student at the University of Amsterdam. Apart from fashion I absolutely love animals of all sorts, art and music. I was born on Terschelling but I’ve been living here for about 4 years now and recently I even got myself a new roomate/BFF: my bunny Bibi <3
2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
I started my blog because I thought it would be lots of fun, mainly because I really like photography and this seemed like a great way of developing my photography skills. I also noticed more and more people coming up to me for either fashion advice or advice about healthy vegetarian cooking so I thought why not bundle it all up in a blog?
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
In the bio on my blog I used the term style schizophrenia because I like switching between different fashion styles. I really love how fashion enables you to express different sides of yourself, it’s very theartical while remaining very personal at the same time. I tend to switch between boho, vintage and slightly grunge looks most of the time and prefer more extravagant outfits over toned down ones.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts.
I have 3 weekly post on the blog (Personal Style every Monday and Friday, a Food related article every wednesday.) so I don’t really struggle with content for those regular posts. I’ve always got a new outfit or recipe to share! With the other posts I like to get inspiration from daily life… If I spend a great deal studying I might share my study tips with you or when I’ve seen some cool films I’ll also make a list of that!
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
ASOS seems to be my go-to brand and I also like River Island! In general I tend to go for UK brands for some reason. I also really like vintage and thrift shopping. Rumors Vintage and Het Kaufhaus are a few of my favourites in Amsterdam and I also like to visit the Ijhallen every now and then.
6. What’s now on your wish list?
Pretty much anything from For Love and Lemons but I’m affraid it’ll have to stay on my wishlist a little longer…
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Most important thing I guess is just to do what you love! For instance, most people tell you your blog has to be a niche but what I like about blogging is being able to write about lots of different things (while my main focus remains fashion). If you restrain yourself the fulfillment from blogging will surely fade quickly and where’s the fun in that? On a more practical note I would advise future bloggers-to-be to think of a clear concept for their blog before starting out half prepared.

Thanks Joy for the great answers! I always love to read your blog. Of course the OOTD are my favorite, but from the food articles I can learn something. I’m not a cooking princess, haha. Do you like Joy’s style and blog just like I do? Follow her! See links for social media canals underneath!
