Good Morning! Shalane from the blog The Fashion Moodboard is in the Blogger Spotlights today. Shalane is a full-time flight attendant and she post a lot of jealous making pictures from places she visit. Of course she showed us as well her outfits. I know Shalane already for a long time and she is such a sweet girl. recently she moved with her boyfriend to Utrecht, so it’s nice to meet more and more bloggers that also lived in Utrecht like me. I ask Shalane the same questions so let’s see her answers.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi there! I’m Shalane, a 25 year old fulltime flight attendant and fashion blogger. Usually I’m flying around Europe for 5 days a week but my home is in Utrecht, the Netherlands, where I live with my boyfriend.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
A little more than 4 years ago I started my blog; the Fashion Moodboard as a personal diary. At that specific time I was already following a lot of fashion blogs and tumblrs and figured I could do something similar myself. I was still a student and over the years my blog has been my online diary of basically everything. I got my job as a flight attendant and that has even more inspired me to write and take photos of all the great things out there.

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
A fun mix of everything and always on a budget. You can see me in super girly outfits, simple black and white and most of the time it’s with a vintage touch. I own a crazy amount of clothing, shoes and bags but most of them is from the thriftstore or are gifts (thanks to my blog). I want to inspire people that you can dress the way you want eventhough you’re on a budget.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog?
I always take my camera with me when I’m out flying. So most of my content is from my travels combined with an outfit post. Ofcourse I look at other blogs, magazines and pinterest to get inspired for new outfits, but as a flight attendant it’s pretty easy to write about something you love. And personally I love my posts about layovers abroad combined with outfit shoots. Eventhough I’m pretty limited to clothing options thanks to my small suitcase.

5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
Primark, H&M, Zara and the thriftstore (Noppes in Zaandam and Wormer).

6. What’s now on your wishlist
–       A classic black cardigan, long one.
–       Cute black ankleboots for this winter.
–       A new camera! My old canon 1000d still does a great job but I would love to upgrade to a 700d.

7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
–       Photo’s are important. I read so much about photography in general to improve my photography skills and make interesting
compositions.
–       Text is important too. I’m not fluent at English but I always read my text a couple of times to see if I made any mistakes before I
put stuff online.
–       Quantity over quality.
–       Post regularly. I post once every two days which is my absolute max since I’m a fulltime flight attendant as well. I don’t have
internet everywhere but people always know I have a new post coming up at 7 AM the next day.
–       Try to keep your layout clean, simple and elegant. A messy layout is not attractive.
–       I figured most things out myself by reading a lot and googling. There is so much information out there!
