Morning babes! Today in the blogger spotlight Saskia from the blog Former Parades. I met Saskia I think already 2 years ago (times flies) at the rooftop party from C&A. Imminently I felt in love with her style. She was wearing a coat from the Zara that I already wanted for a long time with beautiful H&M heels. The next day I order the shoes, haha. Saskia started her blog in 2011 and mostly she write about fashion that’s inspired her and her own looks of course. Saskia style is casual but always with a twist like printed shirt, fancy shoes or cray bags just like the chocolate bag that you can see underneath.
Curious about Saskia? Read the interview en go to her blog. Enjoy!
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi! My name is Saskia, I’m a 20-year-old fashion lover from a small town near Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I’m studying Arts & Media Management and when I grow up, I’d love to be a producer for radio shows. In the mean time, I love to spend time with my girlfriend, friends, blog about fashion & dream about living in Paris.
2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
I started my blog in 2011. I continuously spammed everyone’s Facebook timeline with lookbooks from brands I liked and outfits that inspired me. I wanted my very own platform on which I could put all my inspirations and later also outfits. That ended up in my blog Former Parades!
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
That’s difficult… I think my style is kind of casual, but I like to have a surprising element in my outfits. A crazy printed shirt or some fancy shoes… This way, I hope to keep my outfits fresh.
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
I read lots of fashion blogs that keep inspiring me. I also love to read magazines and I often find lots of DIY inspiration in them. When I’m abroad, I always buy foreign magazines for new inspiration. I also LOVE Pinterest, it’s such a huge source for any kind of inspiration! Whether it’s for outfits, blog posts or what I want to eat, haha!
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
I can always find something at Zara. I also love H&M, Monki and Weekday. Unfortunately, I never really have enough money to buy anything I want at Weekday, haha.
6. What’s now on your wishlist
A Barbie printed sweater from Moschino! I also really want a nice pair of sneakers, from Adidas or Nike or whatever. I’m also always looking for the perfect pair of jeans. Still haven’t found them, but always craving them.
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Try not to focus too much on your statistics. I used to do that, but it made me very unhappy, haha. Blogging is supposed to be something you love in the first place. Just keep doing what makes you happy! Such a cliché, but also very true.
Thanks Saskia for the great answers! Keep up going the good work and dream a lot about Paris :). Do you like Saskia’s style and blog just like I do? Follow her! See links for social media canals underneath!
Have a nice day sweeties!
