Today it’s international women’s day! A global day to celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In the lead-up to the day on 8th March, the Eastpak She Wears Tour celebrates the strength, courage, vision, and entrepreneurship of some truly remarkable women. So Eastpak organized in seven cities around the globe a tour for inspiring female bloggers to met some power women’s who already have stamped their mark.
I was lucky to be invited for this inspiring tour through The Hague. We started at Then Hague Central station and got a warm welcome from Polyanna where she gave an awesome performance. To start the tour fresh we all got some delicious juice from he Juicy Juice boys. Yes, the tour begon really good, haha.
When we all pick a bicycle we went to Bink 36, a place for art and culture makers to meet entrepreneurs and come up with innovative ideas and products. Designer Doorith de Roode from Les Soueyrs Rouge told as her life story, which was very inspiring. After the presentation it was time to see the collection and a little coffee/tea moment with some delicious chocolate. Women and chocolate is always a good idea. Than we went to the five floor where we got a gorgeous performance for Lonneke van Leth own version of the Swan Lake.
Than we walked to Studio 13 where we meet Geesje Mosies owner of Hoooked. She talked about her business, what it’s like to be a female business owner, and the difference between the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds.
We took our bike again and went to a cute place called Naar de Overkant where we got a delicious lunch and a great performance from the Indien. Than we went to Stichting Street Consulate where Joy Falkena tells us about the organization De Acherban. An organization that helps homeless people in The Hague. Every year on International Women Day we organize a special beauty treatment day for women who are homeless. Around 90 homeless women are invited to enjoy pedicures, manicures, beauty treatments, massages offered by professionals and entrepreneurs in The Hague together with volunteerswww.straatconsulaat.nl. This was really an eye opener. We bloggers get al of those free stuff when others don’t have nothing. This was really inspiring and next year I would donate definitely something.
Than it was time to leave our bike behind and got on this awesome bus to Scheveningen (the beach). There we meet Daphne Oedekerk owner from Aloha, Surf School. She and Boozy (writer from the book Puur Gelul) told use their stories meanwhile we got some delicious The hague bier and haring.
Than It was time to get back to the centre where we had our last stop by Paard van Troje (The Hague’s biggest music venue) where we got an other live performance from Sven Hammond, The Humanity House (museum) and Van Kleef Winkel for the best liqueur.
Than it was time to go back to Houten, but just after some shooting with Dorian and Iris. Enjoy the pictures!
