San Francisco 1
H
i sweeties! Today some travel information about San Francisco. Which was my last stop from my road trip through the USA. Soon you can expect some tips and hotspots about the places where I went.

Enjoy!

1. Golden Gate Bridge
This Golden Gate Bridge connects San Francisco with Marin. The bridge is yearly visited by nine million visitors. It is a special bridge that makes a great impression with its size, color, light and sound. The bridge is equipped with a pavement of no less than 1.7 miles long. Roller skates and dogs are not allowed. Nearby is the city park “Golden Gate Park”.

2. Alcatraz
This island in the Bay of San Francisco was used from 1934 to 1963 for a very high security prison. A famous prisoner from that era was Alphonse “Al” Capone. There are several movies made from these well-known Alcatraz prison. Today it is a museum and national park.  The island is only accessible by ferry.

3. Alamo Square
Alamo Square is a residential area, but also a park. The houses are special and typical San Francisco because of their Victorian architecture. Because this district lies on a hill, you have a fantastic view over the city of San Francisco. The houses are also called “painted ladies“, because they often have multiple colors.

4. Fisherman’s Wharf
Who wanna see very lazy seals  should definitely go to Pier 39. Dozens of seals are here enjoying the Sun and find it best to be watched. Of course there is more on Pier 39. The Pier is located in a neighborhood called “Fisherman’s Wharf“. Today it is a point of interest with many fish restaurants, shops, attractions and often live entertainment.

It’s the oldest Chinatown in North America and has a lot to offer for visitors. Many Asian buildings adorn the streets in this part of San Francisco. The best to see it all is with a real Chinatown tour, where you pass a fortune cookie factory.

6. Golden Gate Park
This very large city park of San Francisco is located next to the Golden Gate Bridge. The park is 4.1 km² and belongs to the one of the most visited parks in the United States. There is also a large natural science museum and Botanical Garden.

7. Transamerica Pyramid
The tallest skyscraper in San Francisco is not to be missed. Its height of 260 metres and special design attracts the attention of many attendees. Several companies are in the Transamerica Pyramid with a total of approximately 1500 employees. Unfortunately, it is not open to visitors who are not a guest of one of the companies is.

The museum of fine arts in San Francisco consists of 2 locations. One museum “de Young Museum is in Golden Gate Park. The museum offers mostly art from the 17th to 21st century and international contemporary art. The building of the Young Museum itself is worth a visit. The other museum stands in Lincoln Park and has the name Legion of Honor. This museum with a lot of allure seems on the Palace de la Legion d’Honneur in Paris. Its facilities include painting, photography and graphic art.

10. Lombard Street
Eight sharp turns down make Lombard Street a tourist attraction. In the spring and summer the flower beds are full of mature flowers. Auto’s drive slowly down the street to see this gorgeous famous street.
