This week I interviewed Iris Dijkers from the blog ‘A Dash Of Fash‘, Iris is a creative and ambitious girl. Beside her full-time job at Kitsch Kitchen she is a graphic designer and blogger. Her style is feminine and chic, but she love to experiment with colors and patterns which make her outfits definitely not boring. She have a weakness for cute bags and shoes. A lot of girls would be jealous at her collection. I do, haha. Iris is also nominated for the Zalando online influencer award. How cool is that? So let’s get to know her a bit better…
2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
About 3 years ago I was working part-time as a graphic designer and was looking for a new creative project. I always loved fashion and thought it was nice to start a blog where I could show off my style & creative projects at the same time. That’s when A Dash Of Fash was born.
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
I’d say it’s a mix of feminine, chic looks and street style. I definitely love to experiment with colours and patterns, while keeping it stylish at the same time.
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
Most of my posts are about things that have happened to me, or about my thoughts, so that always comes pretty easily. Whenever I write a different kind of post, like blog or career tips or a trend report, I always try to think of what I would love to see on someone else’s blog, being a blog reader myself.
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
Ugh, so many! Fave brands I wear are: ASOS, Monki, Topshop, Ready To Fish, VILA and River Island. Fave brands n the wishlist are: KENZO, Sandro, Acne and Saint Laurent.
6. What’s now on your wish list?
I’ve been obsessing over the Proenza Schouler PS11 and Philip Lim 3.1 Pashli bags for years now, so I guess it’s time so save up and get my hands on one of those.
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Always start with a plan. Think about what makes you different from all other bloggers that are out there as competition is tough. Go with the theme that works for you and come up with a blog name that reflects your blog’s focus and is easy to memorize. Make a list of posts that would go with that, start making them and start from there! And make sure to be professional from the start, so get a .com domain, a nice WordPress theme and a good camera. And of course good luck & enjoy the ride!
Enjoy your day!
