Normally I post the Spotlight on Tuesday, but I had a few busy day’s and I didn’t prepard my post on time. But here it is a new Spotlight! This time I want to introduce you to Marloes from www.budgetproof.nl. A blog about travel, fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Marloes gives tips and tricks how to live budgetproof. Where to find the perfect leather jacket with a great discount, travel destinations for a good price our that designer sunglasses. Marloes knows! Let’s get to know Marloes a little bit beter….

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hiiiii! *digital handshake* Marloes. Nice to meet you! About 4 years ago I started blogging on Budgetproof.nl about how you can have an awesome life without being rich. This year the plan was to enjoy the last year being in my twenties to the fullest, but then ‘a career’ threw a spanner in the works. I work (part-time) as a SEO and copywriter for a big company. The other 4 days in a week (I know, crazy!) I work, work, work, work, work as a freelance copywriter and blogger (for various clients). My own blog is just a hobby that got out of hand.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
Four years ago I worked as an event assistant for corporate (autosports) events. I loved to write, but my – poorly paid – job had nothing to do with writing. That’s why I decided to write about having a fun life on a budget.

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
Affordable and on trend, without losing ‘the real me’. My favorites: distressed jeans, leather trousers, biker jackets and fluffy coats. Items that – according to me – will never get out of style.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
Back in the days I decided to publish a blog every other day. That means you have to come up with 3 to 4 subjects every week. Personally I don’t think that’s a challenge. I always try to find a good balance between fashion, beauty, tips and serious money-stuff. How I come up with the subjects? Erm… life. Products I use, new favorites, things I’ve done, trips I’ve made… you name it. I write about everything and anything in life – of course with an affordable twist. I can imagine I will be much harder if I’d only write about fashion or beauty.
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
I’m all about (online) high street fashion. I don’t have a favorite brand, but I do have my favorite shops. Think Mango, Primark (it’s definitely not as bad as it seems, but I don’t want to start a discussion), Takko, ZARA and ASOS. O, and Oeuvre. Once in a while I treat myself to a designer item like a Furla or Rebecca Minkoff bag.

6. What’s now on your wishlist?
I fell in love with a black Sandro bag (50% off is Budgetproof right?). It’s in the basket on The Outnet as we speak. I’m also looking for a new pair of silver ankle booties. I had this amazing leather pair from The Office but after wearing them a couple of months they’re totally knackered. I’m gutted.

7. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
That’s a difficult one. I think I’d have to go for the metallic trend. So much fun!

8. Who are your favorite bloggers?
Megan Ellaby (Pages by Megan), Lizzy Hadfield (Shot From The Street) and Yara Michels (Chapter Friday). I never miss a blogpost or Instagram photo.

9. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!

Go big or go home. Don’t underestimate the time a (professional) blog costs. You have to be willing to invest a lot of time. But, of course, that doesn’t matter as long as you love blogging.

Power women alert! Let me introduce you to Maureen Powel. Stylist, blogger, model and mother of three beautiful daughters. A real inspiration in the fashion world! Maureen have a great sence of style and i’m glad she shared that on her blog and Instagram with us. Every time when I see Maureen she have a different hair style. Blue, purple, curls, style or grey. You name it and Maureen had/have it. Everything looks good on her. Maureen how do you do that? 1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am multitasker, I blog, write articles for other platforms, do Styling, travel a lot, model and have 3 kids.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
A lot of people told me they got inspired by me combining all of the above so I created a platform to write it all down.

3. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
I listen to how my followers react and the comments sometimes they have a question that will create new content . Also I travel a lot to discover new things that I would love to share.

4. What are you favorite brands and shops?
I love online shopping and sparkles. Asos has a lot you can find anything you like. When it comes to high end designers that would be Gucci I love their new colorful and daring collection.

5. What’s now on your wishlist?
Anything from Gucci ow and silver metallic over the knee boots.

6. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
I would say the seventies look. Everything flared and bellsleeves.

7. Who are your favorite bloggers?
I am into fashion mom blogs at the moment so I would say momcrushmonday and scoutfashion.

8. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Think about the people you would like to reach that will also mean choose if it is going to be in english or your motherlanguage. Only do it if you are going to bevoted ( do a test offline first). Let me introduce you to the beautiful Mailili, blogger from www.maililisasabone.com. Mailili started her blog because she felt she was missing something in life. She craved a hobby where she really could express herself when it came to her interests like photography, writing, and fashion. Well let’s to know Mailili a bit better…..1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Mailili Sasabone, 19 years old and living in Zaanstad. Last year I studied allround Styling for three years. After graduating I started a 1 year study of fashion manager. Besides school I can proudly say I’m working for my blog www.maililisasabone.com. A blog where I share my passion and interest for fashion and Lifestyle.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
When I was 12 I started to following bloggers. When I got an assignment for school to create an online portfolio I made my own blog instead.

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
I love to try out different styles. I don’t really have a style but I do like to mix classics with cool and trendy items.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
My inspiration comes from everything around me like buildings, food, social media. I just come up with random Ideas and start working on them.

5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
Asos, Zara and River Island are my favorites at the moment! They have so many styles en trends. I really love Gucci when It comes to a brand.

6. What’s now on your wishlist?
Golden V Earrings from LV and a 70’s aviator!

7. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
Fishnet panty’s!!

8. Who are your favorite bloggers?
Negin Mirsalehi, Lisa Olssons and Krisitina Bazan right now. But I follow way more.

9. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
It is a lot of work so If you want to start a blog you need to ask yourself the question: Do I want to invest a lot of time in blogging?

Hi sweeties! It’s time for a new spotlight. This time I will introduce you to this Belgian beauty Nathalie from Curls and Bags. I love to read her blog and her outfits are always on fleek! 1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Nathalie Van den Berg, I live in Antwerp and I’ve been blogging since 2012! I blog about fashion and travel and it’s my fulltime job.

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
To be very honest, I was just really bored that day, so I just thought, why not start a blog?

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
Casual chic and feminine.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
Since I post outfits mostly I always get outfit ideas from Instagram and other bloggers
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
I love French brands such as Maje and Sandro. But of course also affordable ones such as Zara and Bershka.

6. What’s now on your wishlist?
An Saint Laurent bag, the classic large monogram.

7. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
I love the fishnet trend, it looks so edgy!

Morning! How are we feeling? Did you celebrate Sinterklaas yesterday? It’s time for a new spotlight. This week I interviewed Marco from the blog MenswearByMW. Marco started his blog in May to share his passion for fashion, lifestyle and traveling. His goal is to inspire other people by showing them his favorite menswear.. Well let’s to know Marco a bit better…..
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi! My name is Marco and I’m the founder of BY MW. I’m 24 years old and I live in Amsterdam. I started my blog last May and I post mainly about menswear. Currently I’m working as an accountant at an audit firm, but I will make a career switch soon as I will start working at Influentials as of December 1^st. Looking forward to it!

2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
I work as an accountant for over a year now. I started to realize that I didn’t like the work as much as I thought I would. I wasn’t able to express my creativity in any way, so I started to blog about menswear. A topic I always had a passion for.

3. How would you describe your clothing style?
Sustainable and clean. A bit preppy, but I like to switch it up sometimes and go more casual.

4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
My inspiration comes from my daily life. Walking around town, exchanging ideas with friends, looking on blogs and Instagram. I also visit PR agencies to look at collections for inspiration.
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
Euhm.. Let me think. I really like Weekday, American Vintage, All Saints, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, The Society Shop, America Today and Tommy Hilfiger. That’s quite a lot haha.

6. What’s now on your wishlist?
A double-breasted tailored cashmere coat by Burberry.

7. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
My favorite trend would be the bomber jacket. Coats and jackets are my all-time favorite garments. I think I have more than 20 coats haha.

8. Who are your favorite bloggers?
I follow many people that inspire me, so it’s quite difficult to choose a few. But I really like Erik Forsgren and Adam Gallagher.

9. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Know what you want to write about and focus on a particular topic. Post regularly and post things that fit your style and personality. It is also fun to connect with other bloggers to exchange ideas and help each other out.
