Goodmorning! Tuesday means a new blogger spotlight and this time I interviewed Celeste from the blog ‘Celmatique’. Celeste believes by sharing her vision, values and lifestyle it will inspire others to be themselves. Most fashion blogs focus on exhibiting their own sheen, but Celeste wants with Celmatique to create immersion by means of diversity. It is about being broad-minded, making statements, positivity, knowing what matters in life and the value of fashion. Not an ordinary fashion blog. I’m a big fan of Celeste. I really love her style and her photography. OMG! Look at those pictures, not normal. I totally understand why H&M choose her to blog for them. I totally dislike the collectie between Kenzo and H&M ( I know for the first time, normally I loved those designer collections), but when I saw it by Celeste I almost regret I did not order anything form the collectie, haha. Well, I talk uuuhh write to much. Just read the interview to know Celeste a little bit better, enjoy!
1.Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Celeste (24), a curly gal, editor, online entrepreneur & stylist living in Holland, but I travel a lot since my boyfriend lives in Ghana. I’m also the owner/founder of Celmatique: colorful stories and visuals about style. Nevertheless Celmatique mostly stands for inspiring others to be themselves.
2.What was the reason why you started your blog?
Actually .. I never wanted to start a blog, but I studied Journalism and blogging was a school subject in the second year. Back then (in 2014) my blog wasn’t about my personal style or anything, but about the underground (hiphop) dance scene in The Netherlands. I was a dancer myself. It was called Battle Cat and included interviews with dancers, recaps of battles, etc. After a while, dancing wasn’t a big part of my life anymore, so I changed it into Celmatique.
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
My style is all about mixing: different colors, prints, materials, cultural attire, and so on and so forth. I like it to be comfortable yet feminine at the same time.
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
I know it can be a struggle but somehow I always feel I have too many ideas. But I think that’s because I want Celmatique to be a lot more than just a blog. I also don’t call myself a blogger when people ask me: “What do you do?” Basically my imagination and creativity goes on and on. But besides that, I also have a great team and friends that inspire me to push boundaries.
5. What are you favorite brands and shops?
My all time favorite is Stella Jean. She knows the art of mixing. I love the fact that she gets inspiration from other cultures yet combines everything with Italian quality and design. I also love Boutique Ultràchic in Milan and Anthropologie, because they both not just sell clothing, they sell a lifestyle. The clothing with the interior, vibe and even the smell is right. A lot of brands are not on that same level. To me, a great brand is a label that gives the customer a whole experience, as if you’re entering their world.
6. What’s now on your wishlist?
I need nude heels! Somehow they’ve been missing in my closet for ages, but I still haven’t found the perfect pair .. So if you see one, let me know! Haha.
7. What is your favorite trend at this moment?
The pleated skirt
8. Who are your favorite bloggers?
Cipriana Quann & TK Wonder
9. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
– Stay true to yourself: know your focus and who you are. What makes you different than others?
– Be frequent and consistent
– Listen to your followers
– Never start a blog for the wrong reasons: do it because you enjoy it. In the end that’s what will take you to a higher level. You have to be able to push yourself and that’s only possible when you love what you do.
