Morning! A couple weeks ago I had an Easter brunch in Amsterdam where I met Sanne from the blog Girl on Kicks. Of course I had to ask her for my Blogger Spotlight. Before I met Sanne I didn’t know about her blog, but that is really a shame because she have an awesome street wear blog. I’m more a heels kinda girl, but I love a good pair of sneakers. Unfortunately I don’t always know how to wear a pair of sneakers and look feminine and sexy at the same time. Well Sanne do! She totally inspired me to wear sneaks more often.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hey all, I’m Sanne, 26 years old and I’m an addict, haha! I’ve been hooked on sneakers since I was about 15 years old, and started collecting them when I was 16/17 years old. My boyfriend, my sneakers and I live in a tiny apartment in Amsterdams finest area ‘de Pijp’
2. What was the reason why you started your blog?
I was working in retail and doing a bit of freelance graphic designing. But I was missing some kind of creativity in my life. I was already following a bunch of fashionblogs and I noticed that there was missing a more streetwear influenced blog. So I decided to try and fill in that spot with ‘Girl on Kicks’. A personal style-blog but with the focus on sneakers and streetwear.
3. How would you describe your clothing style?
First of all; Never not wearing sneakers. Also I’m a sucker for jeans, crewneck sweaters, sweatpants, sportswear, monochrome looks and menswear. I always try to style my sneakers in a way that is still feminine. So I don’t walk around dressed like a dude! I’m all about wearing good basics with a pair of not so basic kicks to spice it up.
4. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts
There are new sneakers releasing every week so theres always something for me to write about. And working together with other creative’s is one of the things I like to do to get new inspiration from.
5. What are your favorite brands and shops?
Of course my favorite sneakerbrands; Nike, Asics, Adidas, Puma etc. When it comes to favorite sneakershops in Holland; 290squaremeters, NoBoysAllowed, Patta, Woei, Baskets, SeventyFive, Oqium, Concrete, Ben-G, Sneakerdistrict. Avenue & Lockwood in Antwerp. For clothing I like Scandinavian/minimalistic brands as well as urban/streetwear brands. To name a few; Selected Femme, Acne, Cheap Monday, Stussy, Obey, Lee jeans, Levi’s, Weekday, WoodWood, Monki, &otherstories, Palace, Carhartt etc.
6.What’s now on your wish list?
-A pair (or 2 or 3..) of Reebok Insta Pump fury’s
-A few good new basics (Good white/grey and black tee and some good basic pants)
-Levi’s 501 CT (the men’s version which fits me way better, tall girl problems)
-Classic white blouse
-A badass black bomber
-‘Retro Super Future’ Tortoise sunnies
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest? Tips!
Start a blog to share your passion. Do not start a blog because you want to make money out of it or to get free stuff. Try to find a niche, a unique selling point.. what makes your blog different then all the other ones out there?
For me it’s most important that I’m doing it because I love sharing my love for sneakers and fashion on a daily base!
